Woodbridge Teeth Whitening, Dental Implants, Veneers

From routine cleanings and fillings to bruxism devices, Richard Goodfellow, D.D.S. is equipped to handle all your dental needs. To help you understand your options, we've included descriptions of some of our leading services on this page.

At our office, regular dental care is the foundation of your dental health. One of the easiest ways of preventing the decline of your oral and physical health is to have your teeth professionally cleaned by one of our staff members on a regular basis and practice effective home care.

Latest studies show a link between periodontal health and heart disease. Together, we will develop a plan of care that optimizes health and fits easily into your family’s busy life.

There are many benefits to taking the whole family (you, your spouse and all the kids, maybe a cousin or two) to the dentist for their first appointment all at once. The dentist and staff get to know all of you together and from that point on will always associate you and your family together.

Initial Oral Examination
Your initial oral examination includes a visual examination, charting, periodontal probing, diagnosis and treatment recommendations. We will also take x-rays, which includes the panoramic x-ray for proper diagnosis of the anterior (front) and posterior (back) teeth as well as the bite-wing x-ray series for proper diagnosis of proximal decay of posterior teeth.

Regular Dental Maintenance
Using the PSR method (periodontal screening and recording), we monitor your periodontal health at every maintenance visit as required. If indicated, a more in-depth evaluation takes place. If further indicated, our staff member will refer you to the periodontal care of one of our doctors.

Radiographs (x-rays) are invaluable to you in the diagnosis and treatment of periodontal disease. They illustrate bone height, bone defects, infection, root involvement, tartar and decay. Radiographs are also beneficial in determining if the disease is progressing or arrested.

Intra-oral cameras are used to show you any areas of concern - both periodontal and restorative. Computers in the operatories are used to record our findings and compare results from one visit to the next. This way, we can confirm health or diagnose the progression of gum disease. When required, a personalized program of periodontal treatment is planned for you that is unique to your needs, abilities and values and will be thoroughly explained. For good long term results, you are advised to closely adhere to the recommended schedule of care.

In its simplest terms, treatment consists of gently removing the accumulation of plaque and tartar or calculus from above and below the gum line. This is known as debridement. How we do this depends on the stage of the disease and where the calculus exists. To be effective, sometimes surgery is recommended.

Dental Implants
We will work with an implant specialist to create an implant for a missing single tooth, missing multiple teeth, or replace a removable appliance.

Teeth Bleaching
Our state-of-the-art, in-office Power Bleaching system will make your teeth whiter in less than 1.5 hours. Another option is our home bleaching system you take with you for results in 2 weeks. You can also consider a combination program of both systems for optimal, long-term results.

Crowns and Veneers
You can have a new smile with all-porcelain crowns (empressed material) on the anterior teeth. For the posterior, we use porcelain fused to metal.

Fillings: Resin
Tooth-colored filings that are light cures to match your teeth. Amalgam: Silver-colored filings, more durable material.

Root Canals
We perform root canals on anterior and premolar teeth.

Periodontal Treatment
You should have a standard cleaning at least twice a year. A periodontal treatment includes an Adult Prophy (basic cleaning). If it has been over a year since your last cleaning, possible treatment will include either Periodontal Scaling (deeper) or Root Planning and Scaling (requires anesthetic).

Mouth Guards
Whether you are an athlete or casual sports participant, you should wear a mouth guard to protect your teeth. If you grind your teeth while you sleep, a bite guard will help reduce symptoms of TMJ. We custom make mouth guards in both soft and hard materials.

Removable Dental Prosthesis
For missing teeth, we can make dentures or removable partials for you.

Mercury Free Dentistry
If you have any questions, please visit The International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology for more information. For the past 15 years, it has been our choice to practice mercury-free and metal-free dentistry.
